The Cumberland Arms is situated off Byker Bank at the top of the Ouseburn with lovely views over the Valley. We are a truly traditional pub est. in the 1850's with a friendly atmosphere. Whether you want to relax with a pint and a book from our Bring one Borrow one Library, listen or join one of the many sessions or enjoy some quality live music in our upstairs room there is something for everyone. It is a home from home with tables outside to relax in the summer sun to cozy open fires to curl up by in the winter.
As one of Newcastle's long-standing live music venues we'll provide you with an exciting and diverse mix of live music. You'll never know quite what to expect from indie, rock, jazz, through to traditional folk and much more, a place to come and satisfy all your tastes - you can even find evenings of storytelling, poetry and theatre
If real ale is your tipple, we lovingly serve ales from local breweries and sometimes further a field. With our new cellar now complete we offer the choice of having your beer served the traditional way straight from the cask or through the pumps. We also have a wide range of your usual suspects including a sumptuous range of Lindisfarne wines, mead and liquors.
