Klub Motorik, the long running London night for all things Kosmische lands at Newcastle’s Cumberland Arms on Saturday May 26th, 2018.
Eat Lights Become Lights / Parastatic / Late Girl

Heading the bill are Klub Motorik’s ever-present house band and cosmic heartbeat – Eat Lights; Become Lights
Live, ELBL are a force to be reckoned with and the 2018 incarnation of the live band leans more heavily than ever on electronics and synths.
“We walk into this dark room tonight and stand open mouthed as Eat Lights Become Lights go through each song with enough discipline to keep us interested, and enough tunes to keep us head nodding ,arm waving and whooping with delight. It seems the most natural thing to do when experiencing such a wonderful racket.” Louder than War
”The UK’s leading exponents of experimental, motorik-themed psych rock… It’s also worth mentioning the band’s incredible live shows, which at times can take on a whole new improvised life of their own…” Drowned in Sound
Shoegazey drones, beats and strobes provided by Parastatic for whom this will be a third outing at Klub Motorik having twice before played at the original London night.
“Krautrock is undergoing something of a resurgence right now but few have dragged it in to the 21st century quite as well as Parastatic. Fusing those wonderful, warm analog synth sounds with a modern dance sensibility.” The Guardian
“Total obliteration of the senses guaranteed.” NME
Opening the night will be Late Girl. Providing a spellbinding complex of wry spoken word, chopped up vocal loops and crushed beats.
A mix of electroacoustic with electronic beat music. With looming melodies hinted with humour and irony.
Externalising gender and cultural assumptions from personal experiences, and submerging written stories with soundscape pieces, this is a modern take on programmed beat music.
With a classical background that whispers its way into the music, Late Girl has been an electronic project that started in May and has already made an appearance in several spaces around Newcastle.
