The first weekend of the festival (27-28 Jul) launches in the Ouseburn area at The CUMBERLAND ARMS and SEVEN STORIES.

Then, ALPHABETTI THEATRE becomes the festival hub from 30 Jul – 4 Aug, open from 11am till late at night, with satellite events happening at THE STAND COMEDY CLUB, SEVEN STORIES and JURYS INN.

Artists and troupes include: The Suggestibles (who play host and will be involved throughout in a variety of shapes and forms), Pippa Evans (of Showstoppers! fame), Drapgprov Revue (awesome duo form Oxford), Stella Duffy OBE (leading a writer’s masterclass), Jason Perez and Couch (US improv coach and his troupe from Glasgow), Beccy Owen’s Pop-up Choir, Suki Webster (of Paul Merton’s Improv Chums) and her show Guest Speaker, Ken Masters and B-boy Doke of Bad Taste Cru leading hip-hop workshops, local troupes Spontaneous Wrecks and Open Heart Theatre, and a brilliant array of actors and improvisers from Newcastle’s booming improv scene.

The festival culminates in the 4 Hour Film Challenge which will see 12 teams of filmmakers and 24 actors charging around the city to make their mini made-up masterpieces.
