4/7/2009 Arockalypse Now!... Probably the best band in the world starts off summer in their own unique Rawktastic way. Rocking the sun down has become a kind of tradition at the Cumberland Arms and who best to do it but the Kings of Rawk. Guns and Roses to Tiffany, catsuits and long hair can all be expected, but it is the energy and the obvious enjoyment of the band that make them irresistible. Outside from 4pm free

5/7/2009 Dhama Banana... The Dhama Banana open mic nights are apart of the pub as the foundations. After a little break they are back and better then ever, giving a stage to new performers of every type. To kick of July we are setting the stage outside. So for your chance to perform in the fresh air of the Cumberland Arms beer garden turn up from 6pm. Outside from 6pm free

6/7/2009 Nashville Liverpool Underground Medicine Show... Emily Grace (Nashville) Mike Badger (Liverpool) Matthew Gardner (Nashville) and friends. A revolving showcase of deep spiritual tunes that detail the intriguing life stories of these artists. The live performances are dynamic uplifting and healing. This is a new collaboration and the first for some to the North East. They have musical heritage to amaze many and you can say you saw them here first. Doors 8pm £8

9/7/2009 Annual Dance Out... The annual dance out of our local morris teams. Including Newcastle Kingsmen, Tyne Bridge, Hexham Morris, and Hexhamshire Lasses. Come and enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple and enjoy this oldest of traditions performed to award winning standards. Outside from 6pm free

9/7/2009 Moon Cat Promotions Present... Sun + Night of Sevens + Pioneers of Mediocrity Sleepy Sun are a San Francisco based band who seem to be going from strength to strength gathering more and more fans every time they play. They have been described as a masterclass in pop-psychedelic composition, a triumph and outrageously brilliant. Doors 8pm £6

10/7/2009 Louis McTeggert + Tom Ismay EP launch. This is chance to hear new material first and get a free EP out of it. These guys just want you to hear and enjoy their music. Doors 8pm free entry

11/7/2009 Real Ale and Cider Festival We kick off the beer festival today in a relaxed way giving people a chance to enjoy the beer in the comfort of the fabulous Cumberland Arms. Last year we had two bars on dedicated to bringing you some of the best local and national real ales going and this year will be no exception. There will be at least 20 real ales ciders and perrys and as always we will fire up the BBQ to stop those hunger pangs. See the news page for full beer and cider lists.

14/7/2009 Rat Race... A dozen fearless players battle for the cheese in a night of nail-biting improvisation. You the audience decide who stays and who goes in this hilarious apprentice style improv tournament, presented by the Suggestibles. The brave performers are made up of participants from our improvisation workshops. Doors 7.30pm show 8pm. £5 entry - 2 4 1 members' deal
